Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge / Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge – Nevada/Arizona – July 8, 2013.
I thought these photos
from our recent road trip would be fitting for this post – Friday Sky – the last
Friday of the year.
There was nothing special
about today being the last Friday of 2013.
No one said “seeing you next year” because most of the people will be
working the first part of next week, or at least on Monday the 30th. Some people have to work the full 8-hour
schedule on Tuesday the 31st.
Of course, most businesses are open on Jan. 1st, especially
restaurants and department stores.
It was in the upper 50s
and sunny. I actually did not need a
jacket when I went out during lunch time.
The weatherman says it would get cold on Sunday and next week we will be
back to normal winter temperature.
I read in the Parade
Magazine that originally the practice of making New Year’s resolutions wasn’t
initially timed to new year. It actually
started in the pre-Christian era with the Babylonians, later grew in the Roman
empire. Statistically, the rate of
people achieving their goals is only 8 percent.
Did you make any new year’s resolutions?
Will you be in the 92 percent of people not keeping their promises or the
special 8 percent?
