A blog about our road trips on Route 66, Lincoln Highway, St. Louis, New York, Michigan, etc. (we have been to 37 States, 13 more to visit), about my love of hockey (NHL), football (NFL), coming to America, growing up in Viet Nam, humor that ain't funny and still a lot of ramblings!
In keeping with the Route 66 Saturday theme and following the post about Nathan's Famous Frankfurter, here are photos of "Tall Paul" aka the former Bunyon's Giant, in downtown Atlanta, Illinois, holding a Giant Hot Dog.
Benjamin was pretty hungry when we got into town, he almost took a bite out of the giant hot dog - haa haa.
The 50's must have been a wonderful time, "hey kids, lets drive an hour to see the giant Paul Bunyon statue!" No DVD player in the car, probably no air conditioning.. but hey when we get there, we will see a giant statue! How cool is that....
My kids would say no way Pop's!
I have a picture of myself in front of a statue like that from somewere in the midwest.. Ill have to look for it.
