ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE (WELL, AND A LOT OF MONEY WOULD NOT HURT EITHER)

I am not really "a day late" with this post about Happy St. Patrick's Day, but I am still "a dollar short"!
These are the cupcakes from St. Patrick's Festival at my church.  I bought raffle tickets for cash prize ($1,500) and for drawings of different items.  The Irish luck did not smile on me - I did not win anything.  Well, it was all for a good cause!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

It looks like the St. Louis Blues did not find the four-leaf clover and no Irish luck when it comes to playing against my beloved Detroit Red Wings.

I took the above photo at the March 14th game in 2009 and the Wings won 5-2. The photo below was taken at last Saturday game, March 12th and again the Wings won 5-3. Not only the Wings won the game, they dominated with penalty kills and puck possession.

Last night, the Wings broke the Washington Capitols' 9-game winning streak in a great game at the Joe. Henrik Zetterberg scored twice. It would have been so nice had he gotten the hat trick. Better luck next time, Zetty.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone. If you drink too many green beer, get a ride and absolutely don't drive!

RED, BLUE & GREEN - HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

These photos were taken last year when the Red Wings came to St. Louis in March 2009. What a big difference back then when the Red Wings continued their dominance in the Central Division in the top spots in the Western Conference. The question back then whether the Wings would get the President's Trophy again. Sadly, this year is a complete different story! Currently, the Red Wings are barely holding on the last playoffs spot, with a constant threat of being ousted by the other teams just one or two points behind. It is painful to watch my beloved team in a very unfamiliar fight for a tight race to keep the final playoff position.
So here is an Irish luck to my beloved Red Wings. Got to win those tight games to build momentum for the final stretch. With a full roster of healthy key players, it will help to give those who log significant ice-time a rest before the playoffs start. Below photo is a Happy St. Patrick's Day on ice to everyone and to all the hockey fanatics who love the coolest games on earth!
