eat it ...
Shoe and cake - what a perfect combination!
Where did the time go? Half of 2014 was gone - we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this month - a nephew who was in his mother's womb when she was at our wedding will be getting married in August. All the kids in our wedding party have one or two kids of their own. We count our blessings every day that we made it this far!
Have a safe and enjoyable summer ... don't forget to eat cake!
A blog about our road trips on Route 66, Lincoln Highway, St. Louis, New York, Michigan, etc. (we have been to 37 States, 13 more to visit), about my love of hockey (NHL), football (NFL), coming to America, growing up in Viet Nam, humor that ain't funny and still a lot of ramblings!

IF THE SHOE FITS .....
... wear it!
What size do you think this shoe is? It definitely does not belong to Cinderella :>)
Here are a few expressions associate with "shoe" -
I wouldn't want to be in your shoes;
The shoe is on the other foot;
(I am not sure what this expression is about) The shoemaker's kids always go barefoot!
Hey QQ, how about, "Have shoe will run"?

I AM TOO NERVOUS TO SIT DOWN
You
probably wonder why I am blogging instead of watching Game 5 of the New York
Rangers v. the Montreal Canadiens. The
Rangers is looking to eliminate the Habs while the Habs is fighting to force a
Game 6. Perhaps you won’t see this post
until much later because it is not like you are anxiously waiting for my witty
comments and cheesy photos!
I
am just nervous to be just watching the game.
It has been a crazy game indeed. The
score was 2-1 Habs in the 1st period, then within 10 minutes into the
2nd period, it was 4-2 Habs.
Rangers came back tied at 4-4 but Habs fought back – 5-4 at the end of
the 2nd period.
Bourque
got his hat-trick in the 3rd period and now Habs is leading
6-4. But I am just too nervous to watch,
especially when Rangers got on the power play.
Less
than 4 minutes left in the 3rd period – Habs is up 7-4 over the
Rangers. There will be Game 6 – I am so
torn between the Rangers my American hometown team and wanting the Cup to go
back to Canada, at least this year since my Beloved Red Wings are already
eliminated!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE - 2014 MEMORIAL DAY
The
first three-day summer weekend has gone by so fast! I enjoy my new job so it is not too bad going
back to work tomorrow. But I hope I will
never become those who “live to work” because while I enjoy working, I only
want to work to make a decent living. A
job should not define your goals in life and definitely not equate to your
happiness.
Actually
I was interviewed for a position with an Intellectual Property law firm the
same week I was offered the position with my current firm. The
recruiter told me that I was one of the top three candidates for consideration
with the IP firm. I decided to accept
the position with my current firm. I
sure am glad I did. The IP position
would require that I worked on Sunday and at “crazy” hours to accommodate oversea
clients (England/Germany or China/Japan).
While IP is a very prestige area of law, I don’t regret my
decision. I believe I am where I am
supposed to be.
We
went to Mass this morning. There was
only Memorial Day Mass and I was disappointed that there were not as many
people as I thought there should be.
After Mass, we saw a couple who received special blessings from the
priest for their 60th wedding anniversary. We only have 35 more years to get there!
This
cake is located in a walking path between the Courthouse and the Police
Department. The Police Department is
across the Courthouse. My office is
about three short blocks from there. The
sculptures are great and thoughtful tribune to the police officers and firefighters.
To
all the men and women of our Armed Forces, thank you for your services. To those who gave their lives, our gratitude
for the freedom you provided.
