GO CARDS!!!!

These photos were from the 2006 World Series (the Cardinals eliminated the Tigers).  We were at Game 1, the First World Series game at the New Busch Stadium.
Busboy, I am posting these photos for you.  Thanks for thinking of St. Louis.  May the better team win!
 Friendly wager, anyone?

DIM SUM, ANYONE? (SAN FRANCISCO CHINATOWN)

(Saturday, July 6, 2013) We walked to the corner of Van Ness and Lombard to catch the bus, got off at California to catch the cable car to Chinatown.  I must admit that compared to NY Chinatown, SF Chinatown is cleaner and better organized.  After Dim Sum, we spend the whole morning going in and out of the shops along Grant Avenue.
We stopped and watched fortune cookies being made at Golden Gate Fortune Cookies Company (56 Ross Alley).
One a sad note: we walked by a restaurant with a big screen television outside and saw a large group of people seemed to be just standing around.  My husband commented, "This place must have really good food for people to waiting in long line."  Then we realized the reason these people gathered around was to watch the news about the plane crash (Korean Airlines) at SF International Airport.
It was one of those moments we would never forget if we were asked, "Where were you when ......?"

TEMPTATION (SAN FRANCISCO CHINATOWN)

I find it is interesting that the Gold Mountain Monastery occupied the top floor in the same building that houses Bank of America.  It could not be more contrast.  The monks in the Monastery took a vow of poverty while the executives at the Bank worship property (money and power).
Would the monks be tempted when seeing the fancy cars, the expensive watch or the fancy cell phone available to the bank executives?  Or the bank executives often wonder and envious of the serenity and the peacefulness glowing on the faces of the monks?  Why couldn't we have both, wealth and contentment?

WATCHING THE SHIP (SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA)

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

The town was getting ready for the America's Cup when we there (July 4-6, 2013).  Some events were going on but knowing nothing about the race, I could not tell you anything else besides just posting the photo below!
I had Tort class last night (October 16th).  First assignment is due at midnight on Sunday instead of the usual schedule before the class meets the following week at 6:00 p.m.
Legal Writing class starts next Tuesday (October 22nd) but the instructor already assigned extra reading in addition to the first 3 chapters in the textbook.  So what a football/hockey fanatic to do - finish all the required reading and assignments before the games start!

SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY (SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA)

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay
by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home
Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I don’t know if it is because of the gray sky and constant threat of rain that makes me feel a bit “unproductive”.  I am simply sitting “on the dock of the bay”, watching the world goes by and just wasting time!

Last week I completed the required 150 hours of internship earning 3 credits.  I also completed Criminal Law Procedures and Family Law classes.  The 2nd half of the Fall semester starts this week.  I will be taking Legal Writing on Tuesday and Torts on Wednesday.

I should be happy being “free” for a few days but I am not.

I hope it is the light at the end of the tunnel and not a freight train coming or it could be a fishing boat!
