COWS, RED BARNS AND RIVER

Here is another "funny" I found while cleaning out the clutter in the basement. I don't think the cows from the photos below would appreciate the humor in the drawing. I wonder if the cow (immediate below) knew I was taking his/her photo and stood still to pose. It was another great thing about advancement of technology as it was another "driving by shooting" I captured while riding in the T-bird.

Our typical weekends, mostly on Sundays, include a pleasant drive in the T-bird on the country roads. We would attend Mass at a church in town, then a leisure lunch and after a walk around, a cup of coffee with a mile-high piece of pie at a local diner would complete the afternoon. The countryside enlivened by the red barn, a simple structure that was built for the purpose of convenience, yet evokes a nostalgia of simpler times. The view of the town by the river (bottom photo) was a reminder of "once upon the time" when steamboats were the main transportation of commerce and destinations. We enjoy our Sunday drives in the country because it is simple living and cost effective, as long as we don't make any purchases at cute little gift shops in town :)
