A blog about our road trips on Route 66, Lincoln Highway, St. Louis, New York, Michigan, etc. (we have been to 37 States, 13 more to visit), about my love of hockey (NHL), football (NFL), coming to America, growing up in Viet Nam, humor that ain't funny and still a lot of ramblings!
This post, Running in the Snow, will conclude the "In the Snow Activities" series. "Maura" is the title of the sculpture below by artist Don Wiegand (1998). I could not remember the name of the artist who created the sculpture of a boy and a girl (bottom photo) so the name "Jack & Jill" will have to be for now. Two years ago, I read an article in the local newspaper that someone "stole" the boy and he was never found. The artist was able to create a replacement. I wonder how the crime was committed without any witness since the sculpture was placed in front of a community center. And how did the thief detach the boy from the girl? Hopefully Jack & Jill will always be together from now on, holding hands and running, in all kind of weather!
